White Horse Beach
The anchor of the Manomet shore: a long, sandy, family-heavy beach with the calm, shallow water Cape Cod Bay is known for. It's framed by a residential neighborhood rather than a commercial strip, which keeps it quiet even in July. The trade-off is parking — resident stickers and a limited district guest-pass system mean day-trippers should arrive early or, better, stay within walking distance. Arnold Beach
A quieter, more secluded extension of the White Horse Beach shoreline, and our personal favorite. From our homes it's about a six-minute walk down the road with towels and chairs — no car, no parking sticker, no logistics. Guests tell us this simple walk is what turns a beach vacation into a beach routine: an hour in the morning, lunch at the house, back down when the light changes.
Manomet Point
A short drive (or a long walk) south, Manomet Point is where locals go for the view. It's also home to the Lobster Pound — the kind of simple New England seafood spot that belongs beside the ocean: oysters, lobster rolls, chowder, bisque. Order at the window, eat with the bay in front of you, and on lucky days watch seals working the water offshore. At low tide, a pretty stretch of rocky beach appears along the shore here — beautiful for exploring, though the rocks mean it's not the easiest footing for anyone with mobility challenges.
Ellisville Harbor State Park
Ten minutes south, Ellisville Harbor is a beautiful hike down through woods and field to a wild, unguarded stretch of shore. It's the beach for people who want a walk as much as a swim, and it's spectacular in off-season light. Parking is easier than at White Horse Beach, with a state lot.
Plymouth Long Beach
On the other side of the harbor, Plymouth Long Beach is a long barrier beach facing both the bay and the harbor entrance. It's the classic wide-sand, walk-for-miles experience, reached via the town's shuttle or limited parking — check current season logistics before you go.
Nelson Memorial Park
A playground right on the water near Plymouth center — the easy-choice beach morning for families with small children, with sand, a playground and calmer logistics than the residential beaches.
Worth the short drive
